California Dreams

Ah, the fun of living in California.

I called one of the places in Boston where my group will be meeting later this month to ask them to fax me something.

Guy on phone: What's your fax number?

Me: [Fax number]

Guy on phone: Gee! Where's that area code?

Me: California.

Guy on phone: Wow, is it all hot and sunny there?

(For the record, it was cool and kind of grey today.)

Me: Oh yeah, it's great here.

I don't think my sarcasm translated across phone lines.

It's right up there with the people in Massachusetts who used to ask me if I went to Disneyland every weekend and surfed to school.

It's amusing, really.
