Day of Piddly Things

Today, the universe was out to get me.

Well, not really.

I just had a bunch of little irritating things happen.

It started when I was getting dressed this morning. Somehow I poked a hole in my last pair of black tights, so I tried nylons instead...and promptly got a run. So I didn't end up wearing what I originally intended to wear.

The good news, however, is that I was able to (finally!) not only fit a shoe on my foot with the sprained ankle, but I was able to lace up the shoe as well. Yay!

But because I spent so much time screwing around while I was getting dressed this morning, I left the house later than I normally do. And so, I got stopped by a train. Stupid trains. I think I live in one of the last places in the universe that actually has freight trains running through it.

The good news, however, is that once I move tomorrow, I will be "on the other side of the tracks"--that is, the same side of the tracks that work is on. No more trains to worry about on the way to work.

When I finally got to work, I spent most of the morning printing out these stupid brochure inserts. When I was stuffing the inserts into the folders, I realized that I had printed one of the inserts twice, and another one not at all, so I had to redo a bunch of them.

Can't think of "good news" side for that one.

A little while later, it was getting kind of warm in the office, so I took off my suit jacket. (Normally it is freezing in the office, but today it wasn't.) I'd had my jacket off for about a half hour before I realized that I had my shirt on inside-out.

Duh, Diana.

That was when I concluded that maybe I should have just stayed in bed this morning.

The afternoon was better. When I got home from work, though, my mother met me at the door and said, "Oh good, you're home. We have to leave."

Damn realtors.

JB and I have plans for tonight, but she's stuck up at some golf course at a fundraiser, even though it was supposed to be over at 6:00 pm.

C'est la vie.

I'm not really even in a bad mood over all of this. It's just that there were so many little stupid things...it's actually pretty funny. And I'm actually seeing the humor, as opposed to my normal "I'm sure I'll see the humor in this later" mode.

Yawn.

Have a wonderful evening.
